Jesus, You’re beautiful. I want to live in your manifest Presence all the days of my life. Take me. More of me. More, Lord! Take all of me!
One major trouble of the Western Church in our day is that we’re fat. We’re Ezekiel 34 fat. We go to Church on Sundays and get fat on sermons, but never feed anybody. We’re satisfied with the status quo. We’re satisfied with showing up, being social, paying tithe and eating a sermon. But who really wants more of Jesus? Who is really poor in spirit here? Who wants Jesus enough to look foolish for Him? Not many in the West.
Trust me, I don’t like this! This makes me sick! It makes me hurt in my bones! WAKE UP CHURCH! We’re supposed to be world-changers, right?! Jesus chose us to bear fruit! (John 15:16) He sends us out as He was sent – to destroy the work of the devil. He said that apart from Him we can do NOTHING. Do you hear that? He didn’t say, “Apart from me, you won’t do very well at evangelism and Bible study and your Church programs.” He said that apart from Him, we can do NOTHING. Not a thing. Now, let me ask you, are we bearing the kind of fruit that can only be explained through the workings of Jesus among us? I don’t think so. How many people are led to Christ a year by those in your Church? Five? Ten? Twenty? Um,… twenty? COME ON FOLKS!
There should be stories spreading about Christians from town-to-town. Stories of one man who prays for bum on a street corner and his limp is healed. Stories that a high school student casts a demon out of an oppressed girl in school, and then her whole family turns to Jesus. If we had just one person per town walking as Jesus walked, the West would be upside down.
God’s vision for the Church was fruit! Much fruit to His glory! Jesus said so, over, and over, and over again, that we could ask ANYTHING in His Name, and He’d do it to the Father’s glory! See for yourself:
“…I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:13-14)
“…so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” (John 15:16)
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)
“…if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 3:14-15)
Oh, Lord! Let Your Kingdom come! Let Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven! Let your glory be made manifest on the earth. Release Your Kingdom grace upon us. Open up the Heavens. Shower Your children with dreams and visions, and visitations in the night! Open our eyes, God, to the glorious splendor of Your Majesty. Fill me God, with more of You. More, and more, and more of You. I need You. I’m desperate, and hungry for more of You. God, You’re so good! So lovely! So beautiful! I love everything about You, God, everything! Be praised forever and ever.
